There was a large forest fire burning in the Olympic Mountains during my week long visit to Washington. While it made hiking difficult at one point due to the smoke in the air (or maybe it was the fact that I'm not used to such high elevations!), it made for some beautiful sunrises and sunsets that the otherwise cloudless skies would not have produced.

would almost move to Pt Angeles just to drive this road to this spot everyday! zoom-zoom :D

glad we waited out the harsh light so you could capture this beauty! such a nice vibrant orange with a spectacular gradient..and the perfect tone in the mountains (dont know how you do that!)..all in a perfect composure :)

off to send my version to scraps! gorgeous capture, LA :D
