Multnomah Creek by LAlight Multnomah Creek by LAlight
Finally back in action after a fantastic trip to the Pacific Northwest! =D

A surprise two day trip to the Columbia River Gorge did not disappoint. After spending one day on the Washington side, we spent the second day exploring the Oregon side. While the incredible beauty of Multnomah Falls was captivating, the creek feeding it was just as lovely, in my opinion. This section of Multnomah Creek is above the main falls, so peaceful and idyllic, one would hardly guess that a 620 foot drop awaits just around the bend! I fell in love with this little stone bridge, and excitedly tried to make some kind of shot work here.

It was a beautiful day for a hike up Multnomah Creek, around to Lemmons Viewpoint, and down by Fairy Falls, just to name a few of the highlights!

Special thanks to Addam :iconblyndspy: for being a kind and patient guide and for sharing all this beauty with me. :]

Love the composition of this. The detailing in the slow shutter speed really brings this alive and makes it really stand out. Great shot!

:blushes: Wow, thanks for the incredibly kind comment John! I'm actually surprised I'd never seen pictures of this creek either, at least not that I recall. I think I always just assumed the falls came straight out of the mountain!

Working on processing the loop, but get so distracted by all the other awesome sights from the trip. Who knows what'll pop up next?!

 It wasn't a walk in the park, but by far not the most grueling hike I've ever been on! Stupid me, though, I forgot to bring water, so I was soooo thirsty! I kept threatening to drink the water in the creek!

Did you hike the whole loop around to Lemmons Viewpoint, Fairy Falls, etc.? :?

..so thirsty and surrounded by all that water..need to get that bottle with the built in filter..last forever(million refils)

...and when we did this area, we did it kinda dumb..meaning, we hiked all the way to the top of the loop on the multnomah side, hiked back down, drove over to the other side and hiked all the way up to fairy and back down again...not the way to do it at all...next time i'll just continue on around and save about 20,000 calories:phew:....but, did stop at lemmons and all that good stuff:D

 Honestly, there's not much in between the two creeks (though it's a pretty forest with lots more switchbacks) so you didn't miss much...but yeah, kind of a silly way to do it! Glad you shared that story, though! =D

Do they really make bottles like that?! That would have been seriously awesome...honestly, the water looked clean but you know, I didn't want to risk getting sick while I was out there.

they do make those bottles...mike just picked one up at rei(rei.com)...literally last a lifetime..the filter comes with a syringe you can clean the filter out(when needed)...but, yeah, just fill up at the creek or fall or wherever and you don't have to carry water..just find it;)...and the filter meets all crazy standards, so ya don't ever have to worry about them microbes:O

That's crazy!! Addam and I were at REI the other day, if I'd known that, I woulda checked those out!! Does he like his, he ever have any complaints? And does he use it every time he hikes or just occasionally?

Hehe...missed you too, sweetie! ;)

Yeah, I wish the trail had been open, I feel like that would have been a once (or twice) in a lifetime view! But definitely glad we got to play around at this spot. I love what you said about the shooting star...totally does, now that you mention it! And we surely had our wish granted! That whole area was a mossy paradise!

Thanks for the wonderful comment, DD!

There is so much beauty in this one image, I'm not quite sure where to start! The greens!! OMG! the greens are gorgeous! How do you get the water like that? You make it look like a mist! Lovely, LeeAnne!

Thank you, Holly! The greens there were amazing...the water? Gotta thank nature for that one (plus a slightly slow shutter speed). Appreciate the kindness. :)

It was the shutter speed that I was thinking of. I wasn't sure whether it was that or a filter or what? My photography knowledge of technique and such is very limited to what I have taught myself.
and, You're welcome:D
