While this waterfall is called "Scenic Falls" I call it "Scenic Falling" because of the ridiculous number of times I fell in the short hike to reach this fall.
In normal conditions, I suppose it would take only a matter of 5 minutes to reach this fall, if that. During my visit, there were three or four feet of snow still blanketing the hillside leading up the falls. The problem was that the top of the snow was packed, but underneath, I think it had started to melt. Which meant that every step my 5'1" self took, I sank 3' into the snow, often having to be pulled out by my hiking partner. He did a great job of appearing to be sympathetic, but I think he was greatly amused that he glided effortlessly across the snow while I sank with every step I took!
In all seriousness, it was well worth the extra effort I had to put forth to get there, as the falls are really quite beautiful.
It's a beautiful place to have to spend extra time falling and climbing back up onto the snow. Next time, I am taking snow shoes, that's for sure.

Beautiful LeeAnne! I bought snow shoes for situations like this and wouldn't you know it, we didn't have much snow, well until last month that is and I was in Alabama!
