The Feathers by LAlight The Feathers by LAlight
A location I had seen many photos of, but really must be experienced in person! This was also my first trip to the eastern side of Washington...such a magical state with such diverse landscapes. Thanks to Addam for, yet again, being the best tour guide! :]

The Feathers
Frenchman's Coulee, WA

I agree, this place has a very mystical quality to it anyway. It would look really cool in IR!

As has been said by others, this looks like an infrared shot. Its quite nice, also the texture in the sky is just great.

WOW. So much going on...and your processing brings it all into a delicious whole. Did I say, "WOW?" The sky is incredible. Those clouds are astounding, then suddenly a burst of light! Incredible. I'm in love with your shimmery tones.

May have been then too...either way, I zoomed in to the spot where I knew you were while I was processing and didn't see you there. Still can't get over the three climbers who thought I was just sitting there for the fun of it.

The Native Americans in this area thought there is something very spiritual about that place. This is like something a young man might see on his vision quest.

I can see why they would think that. There was definitely an incredible feeling there...told Addam that I thought it had a lot of soul. The rock felt alive, if that makes sense.

I think you saw the petroglyphs at the nearby Petrified Forest. In a sense those rocks are alive.

Hey I just realized...you got to see your first coulee! Not the Grand Coulee (with 800 foot walls) but a real coulee.

They don't have much in common with your hollers do they?

I did! =D
I was thinking about that after I got back home, actually. And no, I'd say they're much different from our hollers. ;)
